I ADAPT (18th may ’01)

After a long break and some drummer difficulties we finally played a show in Akranes, Iceland along with Fake Disorder, Betrefi, Hemra, Klink and more bands. This show is a benefit for children with cancer so we were very happy with being able to show our support for them. In the drum stool we had Valur (also in deathsludgecore band Andlát) and he did well. He is now our full-time drummer as he is such a nice dude and a good drummer. We have obviously built up some reputation as people cheered a lot when we took the stage (Villi wearing a ski- mask and Birkir wearing a very realistic old-man mask) and started our hardcore action. The pit was huge from the start and the atmosphere was happy and good throughout the entire show. We played a new song and it went down pretty well. We ended the set with “celebrate” which has turned out to be our anthem and the kids sang along with every word and the show ended with a massive sing-along and a pile up in front of the stage that both Birkir and Axel joined in. This was perhaps the liveliest show we have ever done, all of us goofin’ around and looking silly. Valur even stood up from the drum stool and sang along at one point. Everybody (along with us) came up to Akranes to see the return of the mighty Klink to the scene and to hear their new songs (which, by the way, were excellent). At one point during our set we did a spoof cover of Andlát’s “racism doesn’t belong in modern society” and their vocalist Siggi jumped on stage and kicked Birkir’s ass and punched him in his inner læri and ripped the mic of Birkir to sing the song but we cut the song at that point and then we did a spoof-cover of Klink’s “JohnfuckSarah” but ended it half-way through as we were receiving “bad eyes” and smelly socks from some Klink members hehehe- na, just kiddin’. Thanx to the kids who put on the show and to all the kids who were there to have a good time, especially all the Reykjavík kids who took the time to drive all this way to represent the Reykjavík crew. Hellahhhhh…..
