Bústaðir youth club - 9. november. 2001.

This was gonna turn into a bit of wierd show. It was in the middle of the week and started not much later than eight o’clock. There were two other bands that played before we hit the stage. These three bands couldn´t have been more diffirent. The first one called Rafrænn Hákon played very lo-fi kinda indie music that´s hard to put words to. But belive us when we say that they were very lo-fi. Next on were the nighbourhood hero´s called Heróglymur (wierd names, yes). They played kinda radio friendly rock. They went down pretty well. Alot of the girls seemed to like them very much.
There were probably 50-60 people when we starded our set. We were glad to see some of the older kids in the scene crawling out of their caves to see this show. We´ve missed you! Anyway. This was pretty damn cool. The sound was good enough and the room was small so it was easy to be in people´s face. The stage was made of some wooden units that didn´t stick together so that when we were jumping around it kept falling apart. So we played on the floor. Fuck, the mic chord was to short so Birkir kept pulling out of the ampsystem. That was kinda funny. Villi had a bad day so he really attacked his bass. It was o.k. It´s good that he could vent his anger while playing.
After a couple of songs we got people into the groove(ha!) and they started dancing. Our good friend Árni (surprise surprise) was dancing like an Indian on speed hahaha. So it got really fun. People picked up our energy. There was even this kid in a wheel chair and he was situated right next to the pit and people kept knocking into his chair. Birkir asked if he´d rather we move the dancing maniacs away from him. To our surprise he didn´t mind. In fact he prefered to be close to the pit cos he liked it when we and the dancing few knocked into his chair and even fell into his lap. How cool is that!?!?! The first moshing weel chair rocker in Iceland – yeah! I hope he turns out for more of our shows.
By the end of our set we told everybody that we´d do this dancing contest. The one who danced the coolest in his underwear would get the latest New Winds(a great hc/punk band from Portugal) cd as an award. The funny thing was that we didn´t have any New Winds cd´s with us! These guy´s were dancing like retards only wearing their underwear hahahaha!! Turns out it were the guy´s from the band that played before us (Heróglymur). Those guy´s rule!! Thanx for making this show even more fun for us!!! Yeah we know. We´re really cruel people ha!
