I Adapt Supporting Stampin’ Ground in Tónabćr
27/07/2001
As you might know, Villi the bass player from I Adapt was organizing this show with a little help from his friends who should get a mention here namely; Erla, Birkir, Bjarki (Andlát guitarist), Raggi, Axel, Valli and loads more of helpful people (thanks y’all):=) Anyway, after a stressful day the show finally happened and I Adapt were on first. Again we played without Axel which sucked but we did the best we could. Villi was really stressed out because of the whole event so he was like a stiff on that stage and didn’t even play well but the rest of the band were on fire, Birkir was even stage-diving off the PA before the end of the first song! Ingi headbanged like a madman and Valur gave the performance of his life. We did a new cover this time, dedicating the song to the scene pioneer, Valli, we did “demonstrating my style” by Madball, it went down really well and the pit was massive, all the older kids “demonstrating their styles” hehehe. On next were SnaFu with a new song under their belt and were excellent that night, as always. Klink came next with a special show; samples, costumes, masks and all sorts of great visual stuff that enhanced the incredible thing that is the Klink show. Then finally the masters of UKHC took the stage and everything went mad, the largest pit I’ve ever seen in Iceland (I being Villi). They were fucking blinding, the tightest, meanest motherfucking band I’ve ever seen live. It was wonderful to see everyone go crazy to the tunes of a band that is (or at least was before this night) relatively unknown in Iceland. They played all their greatest songs (except “emasculate” to much despair of I Adapt’s guitarist, Ingi) and generally kicked serious ass. Nice guys as well, look out for them coming back this way next summerJ By the way, they say that this was one of their all-time favorite shows so Icelandic hardcore kids, take pride in our scene!
