New demo tracks available! GET INTO IT 21/11/2005
Ayho!
So we rushed into Óli's garage with two amps, cymbals and got to use Óli's drum-kit. Think we recorded 9 tracks in less than an hour using two micraphones. The three new tracks featured on this site are songs we've been playing live for the last two shows. People have reacted pretty well to them so we wanted to make them available to you. The sound is super raw and I think two of them are first take and one got right in the second take. Lyrics are available on this very website. Joy.
These songs will be on our next record. We hope you guys will appreciate these songs cause we certainly do. Now we can all sing along to the new shit as well.

We are happy to inform you that we will be playing a adventurous show this coming friday with all kinds of artist. Don't miss out on this thing. Check us out if you missed our Iceland Airwaves showdown with our new bass player. That show was talked about by many a wanker. For this show we will bring knives. Hello everybody. This is a quick one just to thank you for the good response lately in the myspace universe. Turns out it aint that shitty after all! The band is going to record a super raw practice demo soon wich will feature some new songs. We will have mp3's available on our website soon.

In other news: I Adapt will be playing handful of pretty low profile shows here and there so be on the look out for these small shows as we will be playing more new songs as they are completed.
The new line up is working like a charm, Addi is doing good as a new bass player and the band is progressing nicely. Future projects are being discussed so keep on checking this site for info on how things pan out.

First show with a new band member! 18/10/2005
I ADAPT @ Airwaves miðvikud.19 okt. Gaukur Á Stöng
As everybody in-the-know knows, the one true hipster extravaganza Iceland Airwaves festival is taking place this very week. Find info on this battle of the posers here: Iceland Airwaves Naturally I Adapt will perform as they are what any wasted individual in tight pants is talking about these days. The band was originally supposed to play a on a saturday night @ Grand Rokk, a great night out, but unfortunatly we had to pull out. So we are playing wednesday instead @ Gaukur Á Stöng wich is a huge venue. To make our little set memorable we're doing something diffirent this night, to break it up so to speak so please come down and see and hear. We've also included three new songs into the set and on this occasion we will introduce our new bass player. Exciting yes yes.
I Adapt áttu upphaflega að spila á afar safaríku laugardagskvöldi á Grand Rokk en þurftu því miður að draga sig úr þeim pakka vegna óviðráðanlegra aðstæðna. Í staðinn spilum við á Gauknum á miðvikudegi. En til að gera þetta ögn meira eftirsóknarvert af okkar hálfu, munum við bregða töluvert út af vananum við þetta tækifæri. Við verðum með svolítið í gangi sem gæti komið einhverjum á óvart, þannig að endilega lítið við og verðið vísari.
Þar sem hljómsveitin spilar lítið þessa dagana þá hlakkar okkur mikið til að tækla þetta drasl.
Ný lög verða spiluð og nýr meðlimur, berni, viðraður sem ofbeldisfullur bassaleikari.

Sæl öll sömul
Þau sem sáu okkur spila með The Rites tóku kannski eftir því að fyrstu 2 lögin í settinu okkar stutta eru ný. Textarnir við þessi lög, Future In You og There's No Courage In Hate, eru komnir inn á textasíðuna. Endilega skoðið þá og látið okkur vita hvað ykkur finnst um orðin og lögin.
Það er orðið nokkuð langt síðan I ADAPT skráðu sig á myspace. Endilega látið alla vita af því, gerið okkur af myspace "vinum" ykkar sem fyrst og kannið hað er að finna á síðunni okkar.

Stofnmeðlimur; Villi hættir í I Adapt 02/09/2005
Kæru vinir
Eftir margra daga íhugun og erfiða þanka hef ég ákveðið að hætta í I Adapt. Þetta er ein erfiðasta ákvörðun sem ég hef á ævinni tekið því alveg frá því ég byrjaði að spila í I Adapt hefur hljómsveitin átt hug minn allan og ég hef lagt hjarta mitt og sál að fullu í hana en eftir að hafa íhugað málið vel og vandlega tel ég að það sé best fyrir hljómsveitina, sjálfan mig og alla aðdáendur I Adapt að ég stígi til hliðar og einbeiti mér að öðrum þáttum lífs míns.
Mig langar að nota þetta tækifæri til að þakka hverri einustu manneskju sem hefur komið á tónleika, hlustað á tónlistina, sem ég er svo stoltur að hafa átt þátt í að skapa, eða hefur komið nálægt hljómsveitinni á nokkurn hátt, sama hvort það eru fyrrverandi meðlimir, tónleikahaldarar, hljómsveitir sem við höfum spilað með eða einfaldlega þeir fjölmörgu einstaklingar sem hafa gefið sig á tal við mig vegna hljómsveitarinnar.
Bestu stundir ævi minnar hafa verið þær sem ég hef átt innan þessarar hljómsveitar, hvort sem er á sviði, á æfingum eða bara á meðal þeirra yndislegu einstaklinga sem hafa komið nálægt þessari hljómsveit á einn eða annan hátt.
Í þessari hljómsveit hef ég náð að uppfylla alla æskudrauma mína og ríflega það; gefið út plötur, túrað um heiminn, upplifað það að horfa út í sal og sjá fólk syngja með í lögum sem ég hef lagt hjarta mitt og sál í, spilað með sumum af uppáhalds hljómsveitum mínum, innlendum sem erlendum, og endalaust fleira en mikilvægast af öllu eru þó þær vináttur sem hafa myndast við meðlimi hljómsveitarinnar, bæði núverandi og fyrrverandi, sem og svo fjölmarga aðra bæði hér heima og erlendis. Ég á bara ekki til orð yfir hversu þakklátur ég er fyrir að hafa fengið að kynnast ykkur öllum og hafa fengið að deila öllum þessum góðu stundum og minningum með ykkur.
Ég vil taka það fram að ég slít samstarfi mínu við hljómsveitina í góðri sátt við Inga, Ella og Birki og að við erum allir vinir ennþá og munum vonandi alltaf verða. Ég óska þeim og hljómsveitinni alls hins besta í framtíðinni og veit að þessi hljómsveit mun ná langt því hún er án efa ein sú besta hardcore pönk hljómsveit sem ég veit um.
Enn og aftur, takk til ykkar allra fyrir minningarnar og góðu stundirnar.

Villi, a.k.a.: Zúlú, Smith, Bensínsprengja, Kapteininn, Crust hefur sagt skilið við hljómsveitina I Adapt. Það er gert í mesta bróðerni við eftirstandandi hljómsveitameðlimi.
Þótt ótrúlegt megi virðast þá er margt annað í lífum okkur og Villa mikilvægara en I Adapt, hardcore + punk og tónlist almennt.
Villi hefur lagt ómælda vinnu, ástríðu, blóð, svita og tár í I Adapt. Fyrir þessa hluti ásamt textum, flutningi, vináttu og ótal margt annað hefur hann haft áhrif á okkur og fólk hér heima og víða um heim.
Lífið hefur
sinn gang og allt tekur enda.
Við þremenningarnir viljum þakka Villa; bróðir okkar og kærum vin fyrir frá okkar dýpstu hjartarótum. Takk fyrir allt. Já allt. Það er of margt fyrir upptalningu.
Þetta er búið að vera ótrúlega ævintýralegt ferðalag en nú tekur við nýr kafli.
I Adapt spilar ekki þessa tónlist af því að það er gaman og cool. Við spilum þessa tónlist af því að við þurfum þess.
Takk Villi fyrir að gera okkur kleyft að gera/upplifa allt það sem flestum hefur ekki órað fyrir...

Founding member, Villi quits I adapt
Dear friends
After many days of contemplation I have decided to quit I Adapt. This is one of the hardest decisions I have taken in my life, From the moment I started playing in I Adapt it became my whole life and I´ve poured my heart and soul into it but after thinking about it very carefully I´ve decided that it is best for the band, myself and all the fans that I step aside and focus on other aspects of my life.
I want to use this opportunity to thank each and every one who has ever been to a concert, listened to the music which I am so proud of, or has interacted with the band in any way, being former members, promoters, bands we have played with or simply one of the many individuals who have talked to me because of the band.
I have lived the best moments of my life with the band, weather it´s on stage, during practice or just among the amazing people that have been close to the band one way or another.
I have fulfilled all my childhood dreams with this band and more, released records, toured the world, lived to look out into the audience and see people singing with the songs i´ve poured my heart and soul into, played with some of my favourite bands, foreign and domestic and endless more. But most important are the bonds of friendship I´ve created with the members of the band both current and old, and all the rest both here at home and abroad. I can´t put it into words how greateful I am for getting to know you all and to share all those good moments and memories with you.
I want to say that I am leaving the band on good terms with Ingi, Elli and Birkir and that we are still all friends and hopefully we will always be. I wish them and the band all the best in the future and I know that the band will go far since it is without any doubt one of the best hardcore punk bands I know of.
Once again, thank you all for the good moments and memories

Villi a.k.a: Zúlú, Smith, Bensínsprengja, Kapteinninn, Crust has parted ways with I Adapt, it is done in brotherhood with the rest of the band.
Though it may seem unbelievable there is a lot more in our lives and Villi more important than I Adapt, hardcore + punk and music in general.
Villi has put an unmeasurable amount of work, passion, blood, sweat and tears into I Adapt for those things along with lyrics, performance, friendship and countless other things he has influenced us, people here at home and all around the world.
Life goes on and everything has an end.
The remaining three want to thank our brother and dear friend Villi from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you for everything.
Yes everything, there is just too much to list.
It has been an unbelievable adventure, but we´ve reached the beginning of a new chapter.
I Adapt does not play this music because it´s fun and cool, we play this music because we need to.
Thank you Villi for making it possible for us to do all those things most people didn’t even dream of.
As unthinkable it seems to keep on going without the Captain, then it just must be. I Adapt have been creating their best songs to date, we will do everything we can to get them to you in any form as soon as possible, lyrics will be posted soon.

Smá update 17/07/2005
Nú er pásan okkar að fara að styttast. Birkir kemur heim í lok mánaðarins og þá förum við á fullt í að gera bandið tónleikahæft á ný og svo verður veturinn tekinn með tónleikatrompi.
Við höfum verið að semja mikið af nýju efni að undanförnu og erum gífurlega hrifnir af nýja efninu. Það er dálítil breyting frá því eldra en góð breyting að því er við teljum.
Einnig er verið að vinna í að gera I ADAPT nælur og bætur og margt fleira í bígerð.
Að lokum vil ég minna á að nýjasta platan okkar, no pasaran, er fáanleg á vínil hjá okkur, í Gagnauganu og í verslun Smekkleysu undir Bónus á Laugaveginum

I ADAPT Í PÁSU/ I ADAPT ON HIATUS 15/02/2005
Eins og flestir vita er Birkir söngvari farinn til Costa Rica til að gera heiminum gott og læra/gera eitthvað nýtt og verður í hálft ár. Hljómsveitin mun því leggjast í dvala á meðan en er ALLS EKKI HÆTT!!! Við hinir þrír vitleysingarnir erum ennþá að æfa og semja til að geta slengt á ykkur nýjum lögum og útgáfum þegar bandið fer á fullt aftur næsta haust.
Við viljum færa öllum þakkir sem mættu á kveðjutónleikana okkar sem voru hreint út sagt ótrúlegir! Vonandi sjáum við ykkur svo aftur þegar bandið fer í gang aftur.
English:
I Adapt are now on a six month hiatus since Birkir, the vocalist, is now in Costa Rica doing volunteer work somewhere in the dark, green jungle. The rest of the band is still rehearsing and writing new material so we can throw some new songs and possibly some new releases your way when Birkir comes back, sometime next fall.
Until then, take care and thanks to everyone who has been supportive of the band through the years (and there is a lot of you out there) and we hope to see you again when the bands goes into full swing next fall.

ROSALEGIR TÓNLEIKAR!!! 28/12/2004
Fimmtudaginn næstkomandi (30. desember) verða NÆSTSÍÐUSTU tónleikar I ADAPT í langan tíma. Tónleikarnir verða haldnir í félagsmiðstöðinni Miðberg í Breiðholti og ásamt I Adapt verða hljómsveitirnar DYS, KIMONO og TONY BLAIR. Það kostar 500 kr inn og skemmtunin hefst klukkan 19:30
