I Adapt are from Reykjavik in Iceland and were recently on tour over here with Hrydjuverk. Picked this album up then after realising they were one of the best live bands I'd seen for months. I've almost avoided listening to it in case it dissapointed and ruined the memory. Wish I'd stuck it on as soon as I'd got it now. It's as great as they are live and is exactly the kind of thing I like. Music which makes you want to circle pit around the room and great lyrics. If you have a look inside the inlay from the CD there's reasoning behind each song's lyrics too. Nothing's here simply because it sounds good. Some of the songs deal with things like addiction, discrimination and enviromentalism. Some of the others deal with unity in the scene, touring and hardcore spirit. The one theme which runs through everything is out and out positivity. Muscially they remind me of Avail or H20. It's just those energy levels and melodic hardcore breaks that bring it to mind. This isn't a case of saying they're the Icelandic Avail, because that shortchanges them by miles. A great, great band. I defy anyone to listen to this and not feel better afterwards, it's gone straight into the frequently listened to pile and won't be coming out for a while. Pick it up at www.iadapt.tk.
